Gameweek 2 Review

Another solid performance last week. My team followed up the 100 in Gameweek 1 to score 83 points in Gameweek 2, despite a captain blank. It pushes me up to 119k overall rank.

I always tend to focus on how things could have been even better, so it was disappointing to have missed out on Saïd Benrahma (£6.2m) who has had a great start.

I did, however, have his teammate Michail Antonio (£7.7m). He's had an even better start, combining continually with Benrahma over the first two gameweeks.

The double Liverpool defence continued to pay dividends whilst Mason Greenwood (£7.6m) also managed a double-digit haul this week.

Here was my performance in full:

Key Stats Ahead of FPL Gameweek 3

It's still too early to draw many conclusions after two gameweeks, although we can see how things are shaping up early doors.

The Top Players from Gameweek 1-2

Here are the top players for Gameweek 1 sorted by expected FPL points, and highlighting some other notable statistics.

The Top Teams from Gameweek 1-2

Now, here are some key team stats, sorted by total shots in the box.

Best Teams Gameweeks 1-2

I quite like "shots in the box" as a quick indicator of which teams are attacking a lot. There will be little surprise with most of the teams at the top, however it would also suggest that Wolves have been unfortunate so far. They may be another team to watch.

My FPL Most Wanted List

This is where I identify the FPL players who I am currently most considering bringing into my team. I'll also highlight who, if anyone, may be able to make way for them.

This helps me to formulate a rough mental shortlist of potential moves. I update this list each week.

As I said, it's early days and I don't want to read too much into just one gameweek (in which most of my team performed well) but here are my initial thoughts.

Goalkeepers

None

Out-list: None

Defenders

Tino Livramento (£4.0m) - the young ex-Chelsea academy signing has looked highly impressive in his first two outings. Could he be a bargain emerging?

Out-list: Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.1m) has been great so far but he may find it difficult to keep his place with Andrew Robertson (£7.0m) coming back to fitness. Ben White (£4.5m) - Arsenal have been poor so far and White now has Covid, although I wasn't planning to play him until after the International Break when their fixtures pick up.

Midfielders

Saïd Benrahma (£6.2m) - looks like he may be in for a good season. West Ham have started strongly and he's at a very nice price too (albeit rising fast!).

Removed: Jack Grealish (£8.0m) - I decided against getting him last week and, although he scored, I'm not convinced on him at Man City just yet.

Out-list: None

Forwards

New: Adam Armstrong (£6.0m) - looks an intriguing alternative to Ivan Toney (£6.5m) up front at a slightly cheaper price.

New: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£8.1m)  - a regular in this list, he now seems to have added penalty-taking to his repertoire, making him even more appealing.

Out-list: Ivan Toney (£6.5m) - I'm sure the goals will come but how long will the transition to a higher league take?

FPL Gameweek 3 Transfer Plans

This week I have two free transfers and £0.5m in the bank.

I need to use at least one transfer this week otherwise I will lose one. I actually have a few different ideas brewing as the season starts to take shape a little:
