FPL tips: Spurs players to consider for Gameweek 31 | Squawka
George Kenny | Fri 04 Apr 2025Spurs have been an interesting team this season, but none of their players are in good FPL form.
But they’ve got a favourable upcoming fixture run, with both of their next two games having a Fixture Difficulty Rating of 2, starting with a home match against relegation-destined Southampton. Then they face Wolves away.
So it could be a good period to increase the number of Tottenham players in your team. The question is, are there any worth going for?
Squawka have taken the four most-owned Tottenham players to see whether they’re worth taking a punt on for Gameweek 31.

Pedro Porro
-
Price: £5.3m
-
Teams selected by: 18.9%
Across the season as a whole, Porro has accumulated 93 FPL points at an average of 3.2 per match.
Unfortunately he now looks to be something of a rotation risk, with Djed Spence and Destiny Udogie both making convincing cases to be regular starters.
Clean sheets have been hard to come by for Spurs, with just six across the campaign, so it’s all about the attacking returns for their defensive assets.
Porro has been directly involved in seven league goals this season, scoring two with five assists.
When called into action he has performed well from an FPL perspective; Porro has created 1.74 chances per 90, with 0.2 of those being big chances.
The Spaniard has also recorded 3.65 Expected Assists, with 0.91 of that coming from set-pieces.
Despite the opposition however, there is a serious risk of a benching for Porro, so it’s hard to recommend him as anything more than a punt.

Son Heung-min
-
Price: £9.7m
-
Teams selected by: 5.5%
Son Heung-min has amassed 125 FPL points this season at an average of 4.6 per match, which does explain his low ownership when you consider his price.
The South Korean has been directly involved in 16 goals this season, but he’s only scored or assisted in 11 of his 27 league appearances.
Son does rank fourth in the Premier League for big chances created per 90 at 0.74, from 2.26 chances created. He’s recorded 0.23 xA per 90, with 0.21 coming from open play.
You’ll want to consider Son for his goal threat though, with a shot placement ratio of 1.21 – upping his 0.33 xG per 90 to 0.39 xGOT per 90.
Let’s not forget, Spurs are playing a team that have faced 17.93 shots per game this season.

Dominic Solanke
-
Price: £7.3m
-
Teams selected by: 4.8%
Dominic Solanke’s season has been hampered by injury, and he’s only just returned to the Tottenham starting XI.
Ir’s therefore hard to judge him on overall numbers, but what about per 90s? The Englishman has averaged 0.44 xG per 90 this season, from 2.5 shots – 1.06 of which have hit the target.
In terms of xGOT, that does drop to 0.34, giving Solanke a shot placement ratio of 0.77.
So unlike Son he does generally decrease his chances of scoring with where he places his shots, but he does find himself in more central positions.
He lacks the set-pieces to fall back on that Son has, although the forward is an aerial threat from corners and free kicks.

James Maddison
-
Price: £7.4m
-
Teams selected by: 4.6%
James Maddison has fallen in and out of favour at Tottenham this season despite decent numbers.
He has scored 0.5 goals per 90 and provided 0.28 assists. He ranks fifth in the Premier League for xA (0.31) and fourth for open-play xA (0.26) per 90 among players with at least 540 minutes played this season.
With Dejan Kulusevski injured, Maddison is expected to start for Tottenham for the next few games.
The England man hasn’t really been hampered by a deeper starting position this season, and is one player that has the potential to explode in a fixture like this week’s.
