<p>Many FPL managers are using their <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-fantasy-premier-league-triple-captain-and-when-to-use-it/">Triple Captain</a> chip in <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/double-gameweek-26-announced/">Double Gameweek 26</a>. <a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://twitter.com/hollyshand">Holly Shand</a> looks at whether this is the right decision.</p>

<p>The Triple Captain chip is perceived as one of the most powerful chips in Fantasy Premier League, allowing your captain to have their points tripled instead of doubled in the next Gameweek.</p>
<p>While some managers have success using it effectively in a single gameweek, it&#8217;s common practise to use the chip in a <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-blank-double-gameweek-guide-2021-22/">Double Gameweek</a>. This gives a potential 180 minutes for your captain to theoretically deliver a big points haul across two <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">fixtures</a>.</p>
<p>The Triple Captain chip can be used once a season and is played when saving your team on the my team page. It can be cancelled at anytime before the gameweek deadline. Remember that only one chip can be used per Gameweek.</p>

<h3><strong>Is Double Gameweek 26 the best time to use the Triple Captain chip?</strong></h3>
<p>While there&#8217;s currently 13 fixtures still to be rescheduled, and further postponements likely for clashes with later rounds of the FA Cup, Double Gameweek 26 presents a clear opportunity to use the Triple Captain chip.</p>
<p>Considering the top performing teams and players in the Premier League this season, Liverpool are expected to have a future Double Gameweek involving Arsenal, with Chelsea having two games outstanding against Arsenal and Leicester City.</p>

<p>Manchester City and West Ham don&#8217;t have any games in hand at the time of writing. Spurs have ties against Arsenal and Brighton to be rescheduled.</p>
<p>While a better opportunity has the potential to present itself down the line, Liverpool having a pair of home ties against Norwich City and Leeds United gives particular promise.</p>
<p>These two sides have conceded more goals this season than any other team, with 50 and 46 goals shipped respectively. Both sides have conceded at least 10 goals over the last six gameweeks. Norwich have conceded 16 big chances in this time and Leeds 12.</p>
<p>The only conundrum fantasy managers should have this week is whether to deploy the Triple Captain chip or Bench Boost chip. However, with tougher fixtures for the other sides who double, it&#8217;s likely those bench players could carry more potential in a week where they have two good fixtures. We should see another big Double Gameweek before the end of the season.</p>

<h3>Who are the Best Triple Captain Options in FPL Gameweek 26?</h3>
<p>When it comes to Triple Captain candidates, it&#8217;s Liverpool assets we should really be considering given the strength of their fixtures across the two games. <strong>Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) </strong>and <strong>Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m) </strong>are the names in the frame.</p>
<p>Mo Salah sits as the highest scoring player in the game this season, having had a hand in 26 of Liverpool&#8217;s 61 goals in this campaign. Since his return from the African Cup of Nations, he&#8217;s had five shots and registered two key passes.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s no surprise to see he tops every metric for goal threat this campaign, and he&#8217;s not faring too badly for creativity either. Only Alexander-Arnold has created more big chances than Salah&#8217;s 11.</p>
<p>Salah scored a hat-trick at home against Leeds United on the opening day of last season. He has two goals and three assists from three appearances for Liverpool against Norwich City.</p>
<p>Salah has scored 8.2 points per game to Alexander-Arnold&#8217;s 7.1 and would definitely be the fun pick. His ownership is likely to exceed 200% this gameweek and will be my Triple Captain, but Alexander-Arnold could be a diamond differential.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s ranked top for big chances created (13) this season, while sitting second for key passes (64) and assists (10). Liverpool are ranked second for clean sheets this season, with 13, averaging more than one every two games.</p>
<p>Alexander-Arnold grabbed an assist in the reverse fixture against Norwich City, which Liverpool won 3-0. He has two assists in three Premier League games against Leeds United.</p>
