Sky Gameweek 25

Finally we have the latest set of fixtures and can make some plans up until the end of March, with the exception of some games that will move about on the weekend of the 13/14th.

As predicted by Ian Parrin we have some tricky single captaincy days. Ian was spot on with his predictions so for me a Brighton player was a must with two single game days on the horizon. We were all hoping for a clean sheet against Crystal Palace but for those that brought in Lewis Dunk it was still an 8 point captain as he smashed tier two passing bonus with 119 passes. Those with Robert Sanchez fared a bit worse as he failed to register a save let alone three. Brighton still have a chance to redeem themselves on Saturday 20th March in another single game day v Newcastle. If it was just one I may have skipped but there’s no way I’m missing two. A Leeds player was also required with a couple of single game days on the 8th and 19th March v West Ham and Fulham respectively. Everton face Chelsea on the 8th March also but I think I’d prefer to target the West Ham v Leeds game.

I know plenty have been contemplating selling Mohamed Salah with Liverpool’s concerning form but Liverpool face Wolves on Monday 15th March in a single game day and I think Salah will still be the best option on the night. In addition, Liverpool play Sheffield United and Fulham in two of the next three so have a good think before you remove him!

Salah and Liverpool have been off form but removing him could be a dangerous game with some good fixtures ahead

Monday 1st March is another single game day as Everton host Southampton. It has also been suggested that Everton will play Aston Villa on 17th March so again maybe an Everton player would be a wise choice to bring in. Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison are probably the best picks from Everton unless you fancy a clean sheet.

Otherwise I’d just analyse each day and see who you would captain and see what moves you will have to make to ensure you have the captain you want. If you use Ian's Fixture Planner or FFStuff's fixture ticker it’s easy to spot the nice 3-1 fixture swings etc. You could come off Salah after Sheffield United for a Manchester City player as City have four games in the time Liverpool play twice but as I’ve mentioned one of those Liverpool games is against Fulham at Anfield, and you’ll need a Liverpool player on the 15th March.

With the announcement that there will still be no fans in stadiums until May 15th I think it’s safe to assume that we will continue to see games on Fridays and Mondays for the foreseeable so again I hate to bang on but I still think it’s worth saving some transfers.
