Damn Carl.. This gets better the more I use it. Nice work
Glad you like it. It should be updated after each game week and will be more useful as more data comes in.
Cheers Carl. My favourite is the prediction tool… will become even more powerful as the season goes on.
Hi Carl. Apologies if this is a stupid question but I’m just trying to work my way around the predictions and find out how best to use it to identify players for upcoming weeks. If for example I was looking specifically at Leicester for the upcoming Monday night game and beyond, is it just a simple case of selecting ‘LEI’ in N8, and then sort by ‘Pred tot’ in N13?
How many gameweeks does the predicted total (Column X) cover? eg Vardy 56.3
Also, the columns U-W are currently showing as GW4-6. Does this mean they are just reporting previous weeks data?
Again, I’m really sorry if this is pretty basic stuff that I’m asking but the formulas here are way above my knowledge of basic spreadsheet functions.
There is one more cell to change and that is AD2 and this is the GW you want to start from. Just type in the number 8 and it gives predictions for the next 3 weeks.
There are several draw-backs with that initial approach and I have built a new model just for the forecasting element which was in the article
https://fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/forecasting-model-fantasy-football/
I believe this will be more accurate, though it doesn’t include the points for playing (which you will know or better be able to estimate) or MotM
And there are no stupid questions. It is better to ask and be sure, than be stupid and stay silent doing the wrong thing.
Happy to discuss anything you wish.
Thanks Carl. Had used the forecasting model quite a bit but was trying to get a feel for both to see how they differ/correspond. It really is great work and gives further credence to your shift away from the 3 strikers article. Invaluable!!
