Sky Sports Fantasy Football – Dan’s Transfer Targets
As we head into Gameweek 11, 2016/17 Sky Sports Fantasy Football champion Dan Cox highlights five players for you to consider for your fantasy XI this week.
We return to Premier League action after the international break with a three day fantasy scheduled to navigate.
Starting with Saturday and what should be a return to goalscoring ways for the three most expensive strikers – I hope anyway.
Harry Kane 13m
After being brought in by over 8,000 managers before the Cardiff fixture – Harry Kane’s only contribution was a yellow card. I was dreaming of a hat-trick and a points filled Saturday but it wasn’t to be. Kane can redeem himself this Saturday as Tottenham travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham. It’s a fixture that Kane scored twice in last season in a 3-2 win, and many will be hoping for a repeat performance.
Mo Salah 12.9m
I’m hoping that Liverpool’s trip to face a struggling Huddersfield side will kick start Mo Salah’s season. The misfiring Egyptian has scored just once in his last five Premier League games and is looking worryingly out of sorts. But I think that Liverpool’s lethal attack could be on for a good afternoon against a side that have shipped 17 goals in their first eight games. And like I said last week Salah is still third for most shots taken (32) and is fourth for most big chances missed with six. So to me that shows that he’s having the chances and it’s only a matter of time before last seasons golden boot winner can rediscover his scoring touch.
The injury he received while playing for Egypt is a concern, so I’ll be watching Jurgen Klopp’s press conference for hopefully some positive news.
Sergio Aguero 12.8m
In the six games since his hat-trick against Huddersfield – Aguero has scored just twice. And rather frustratingly he’s been substituted after 66, 66, 61, and 54 minutes in each of the last four games. Playing for an hour is a concern but I’m hopeful that he’ll start to play for longer after the intentional break. With Pep revealing that the Argentinian has been playing with a slight injury over the last few weeks.
I have high hopes for a fruitful afternoon as City host Burnley at the Etihad. However, if Sergio fails to deliver then it may be time to look elsewhere for goals in the shape of Alexandre Lacazette but we’ll return to him after Sunday’s option.
Richarlison returned to goalscoring ways in Everton’s 2-1 win over Leicester at the King Power. And the Brazilian provides a great captaincy option in Sunday’s Sky Sports live clash when Everton host Crystal Palace at Goodison.
In fact with that being the only game of the day having a player from either side is desirable. However with Crystal Palace’s recent form not being great, with just one win in the last five Premier League games. And with some tricky upcoming fixtures against Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United I’m not tempted by any Palace assets. Whereas Everton whilst they do face Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the coming weeks do have some favourable home fixtures against Brighton, Newcastle, Cardiff and Watford.
Alexandre Lacazette 11.4m
Arsenal have been on a fantastic run of form since losing their opening two league games. Unai Emery’s side have won their last six premier league games in a row and Manchester City are the only side to have scored more goals.
With this in mind Alexandre Lacazette is a great option for the Sky Sports Monday Night Football clash where Arsenal host Leicester. Lacazette has scored four goals and notched up three assists from just five league starts. And the Frenchman is priced at just 11.4m – that’s considerably less than the big three of Kane, Salah and Aguero. In just 6% of teams a goal or two will send you flying up the leaderboard. And with Arsenal playing Monday I will look to move one of Aguero or Kane on for him after they have played Saturday so I have a captain for Monday and will have gained an extra game.
