Hi Carl. It’s a long way off, I know, but what’s your take on all these horrible single match day Arsenal fixtures, starting with the Newcastle one. Should we plan and budget for a Laca / Auba…….but one always seems to play one week and then get benched the next game…..any thoughts on another strategy to cover the Arsenal?! cheers
That’s a very good question and to be honest I don’t know and a lot will depend on how many transfers you have and what happens in the cup. I won’t be worried about missing Aresenal v Newcastle but Everton v Arsenal may also be a single day as well. The you also have a couple of away single days.
I would consider Xhaka and Micki as well as the strikers you mention. Whoever comes in then can transfer to the Chelsea v West Ham game (if that isn’t covered). Then Watford have some good games, so would bring in one of their players to cover that home fixture to Arsenal.
Hope that helps, though I don’t play on making any changes (or less forced) until after the quarter-finals of the cup have been played and we know the re-arranged fixtures and who plays during the semi-final week.
