Dan’s Transfer Targets
As we head into game week 37, Former Sky Sports Fantasy Football Champion Dan Cox highlights five players for you to consider for your fantasy XI this week.
It is another busy week of Premier League and fantasy action as the season heads towards its conclusion. In particular it is a massive week for Manchester City who face both Spurs and City rivals Manchester United.
There are major gains to be made as mini league rivals run out of transfers and now is the time to take advantage.
The action kicks off on Saturday lunchtime on Sky Sports, with Pep Guardiola’s side taking on Spurs for the third time in quick succession.
Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling
Manchester City have two must win games this week and that’s why I’m tipping Sergio Aguero ( 12.8m ) and Raheem Sterling ( 11.5m ) to deliver the goals and the all important fantasy points.
I also fear a bit of revenge is on the cards following City’s Champion’s League exit.
From the same game I’ll also tip last week’s selection of Heung-min Son ( 10.6m ). Whilst it may not seem the best idea to select a player facing Manchester City, Son scored three against Pep’s men over both legs of their quarter-final clash in the Champions League. In addition Spurs face a Brighton side that are really struggling on Tuesday, and I think he provides the best captaincy option for the day.
Onto Sunday and the standout game for me is one you can watch at 4pm on Sky Sports and it’s Liverpool’s trip to Cardiff. Mohamed Salah ( 12.9m ) is the most owned out of Liverpool’s attacking trio and for me he’s the most likely to deliver a big haul. The Egyptian recently rediscovered his shooting boots and has now scored twice in his last two games, and claimed a MOTM in both also.
The Monday Night Football live game is Chelsea v Burnley at Stamford Bridge. And just like the week before last, I’m again hoping Eden Hazard ( 11.8m ) can deliver a huge points haul. The Belgian was a 42 point captain a fortnight ago with two goals and MOTM against West Ham and I’m hoping for more of the same this week.
As mentioned previously Spurs face Brighton on Tuesday and Heung-min Son ( 10.6m ) is my preferred choice of captain. The only other fixture on Tuesday night is Watford v Southampton.
The Gameweek concludes on Wednesday as Wolves face Arsenal at the Molineux. And we have a massive game at the top of the table as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United host Manchester City.
Again Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling would be my picks for the night – in a tie City dare not lose. An Arsenal player again may do well but you just have to hope that your player starts, as owners of Lacazette and Kolasinac will testify to as they both failed to feature against Watford.
