This was another low scoring week with a total of 907.  Chelsea picked up the most points with a lowly 75, while West Ham had the lowest with 19 following their 4-1 home defeat.

Man of the match

The table below are the Sky man of the matches:

Crouch comes off the bench with 21 minutes remaining to pick up the MotM awards and ensure strikers don’t have a second blank game week.

The bonuses

The distribution of bonuses by team this week is:

The awards were evenly spread this week with several top teams playing each other. Man City again lead the way, but less tier 2 passing than usual. In general very few passing awards were dished out, with most coming from tier 1 tackling.

Man United score a rare blank for a top team.

The season awards are as follows:

It looks like the top 6 gas been replaced with the top 5.  Man City continue their impressive fantasy football awards to match their real life performances.

All positions under-performed in bonus awards reflecting a hard fought round of matches.

Player watch

M Salah tops the shots awards and has consistently appeared in my scatter-plot (min of playing 5 games).

Salah has started 10 games and made a sub appearance in the other.  During this time he has scored seven goals (33% of team’s) and three assists (14% of team’s), this compares to 31% of team’s shots on target and 10% of key passes.  This indicates that his returns are in line with his general play.

In addition to topping the awards for shots on goal, he catches the eye in his overall contributions by picking up three MotM awards (one behind the top spot).

He is currently scoring at 0.92 points per match per £m.  This is incredible and much higher than a 0.7 I would be striving.

I have him in both my teams and the stats suggest he is a must have player.

My teams

With both my teams having Salah as captain (42 points), they both had a good start to the weekend. However, both bringing in Kane for Sunday captaincy was a little bit of a let-down.

The luck has changed for the second team and they scored over 100 points to move up to 28th.  Considering how quickly they have moved from outside the top 2,000 it would only be a bad week and they plummet out of site again.

My first team, failed to perform apart from Salah and managed 75 points.  Despite a rise of 10 places on the Saturday, fell around 50 places in total over the weekend.

With the international break coming up this weekend it’ll be an opportunity to plan transfers and options for the weeks ahead.
