Best Chelsea FPL players 2024/25: Cole Palmer (£10.5m)

Palmer wasn’t just the best Chelsea option last season – he was the best in the game.

The former Manchester City midfielder top scored with 244 points, with 22 goals and 13 assists to his name.

Nine of his goals came from the penalty spot but Palmer’s influence stretched far beyond 12 yards and his goals tally was just five short of Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland’s.

His impressive goal involvements total was made even more so when considering he only made his first start in Gameweek 7.

From that point he averaged eight FPL points per appearance, 1.24 more than his nearest rival Phil Foden.

Palmer is comfortably Hub AI’s Chelsea player of choice for the first four gameweeks. He is six points ahead of the next best Blues option and the second highest among midfielders overall. Only Haaland and Mohamed Salah are rated better.

The England international played a limited role in Euro 2024 so will hopefully be ready to start come Gameweek 1 – but keep an eye on our predicted lineups and team news article ahead of Gameweek 1.

Best Chelsea FPL players 2024/25: Christopher Nkunku (£6.5m)

At just £6.5m and classified as a midfielder, Nkunku could become a must-have FPL asset.

His debut season in the Premier League didn’t go to plan due to injuries but he could play a major role in 2024/25 if he stays fit.

Nkunku has played plenty of minutes in pre-season, scoring three and assisting one. Two of these have been penalties though, and Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has indicated Palmer will be back on spot-kick duties when the season starts.

The French international could play up front, however he is a versatile player and could fit into numerous positions in Maresca’s system.

One such option is as an attacking midfielder, which is where Maresca played him in the Blues’ first three friendlies.

Midfield could therefore be a fair classification for FPL purposes, although he was stationed up front in the latest game.

Nkunku’s best season came at RB Leipzig in 2021/22, when he scored 20 and assisted 13. He managed 16 goals and four assists in 25 games before moving to London.

He will be a popular pick come Gameweek 1 as a result of his price, which will soon soar if he starts the season well.

Rotation or early substitutions could be a factor, with Nkunku stating he was still not 100 per cent fit, but he has played enough friendly minutes to suggest he will be a key player.

Hub AI ranks him second for predicted points among Chelsea players for Gameweek 1-4 and the fourth best midfielder at £6.5m and below.

Best Chelsea FPL players 2024/25: Robert Sanchez (£4.5m)

Picking a third Chelsea option is challenging, with plenty of unknowns as Maresca prepares for his first competitive game in charge.

Centre-back spaces are contested, with four players getting triple-figure minutes in pre-season.

And Nkunku’s positional flexibility could impact different players, including Nicolas Jackson’s game time up front.

Our third pick is therefore a somewhat risky one – and we’d advise caution as things stand.

But for now, we’ve opted for Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) in goal due to his attractive price.

All the Blues’ goalkeepers are £4.5m, including new arrival Filip Jorgensen.

Sanchez’s place as number one is far from assured but he has started all four of Chelsea’s friendlies to date.

Chelsea kept eight clean sheets last season – ranking midtable for expected goals conceded (xGC) – but if a number one is nailed down, they could offer the best value in the £4.5m bracket.
