<h2>Best Manchester City players 2023/24</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Season on season, City are one of the most high risk, high reward teams in FPL. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Picking the right City players at the right time will lead to big green arrows - but picking the wrong ones will likely have you seeing red.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With incredible <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">fixtures</a> to start the season, selecting the best City players in FPL is a key factor in getting ahead of the pack early.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The right double-up, or even a triple-up, will be a massive benefit to any manager's overall rank at the start of the season.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Let's start with the best City players to target:</span></p>
<h2>Best Manchester City players 2023/24: Erling Haaland (£14.0m)</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Starting with the obvious pick - and there’s not much we need to say about the Norwegian striker.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With a record-setting 36 goals last season and 272 FPL points to follow, one would think Haaland can only get better with more time under Pep Guardiola at Man City.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In that sense, it’s silly to play around with the question of owning him in FPL – he should be in everyone’s team.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you want to take risk in FPL around Haaland, it’s best to do so through captaincy, rather than ownership.</span></p>

<h2>Best Manchester City players 2023/24: John Stones (£5.5m)</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After Haaland, the choice is not so clear. Given City’s fixtures, buying into the defence seems like a pragmatic decision.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Early in the season, Stones looks to be the pick of the bunch.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For minutes, Stones, <strong>Ruben Dias (£5.5m)</strong>, and <strong>Ederson (£5.5m)</strong> are the best options. Dias however has less attacking threat and Ederson is a low-ceiling goalkeeper.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For value, <strong>Manuel Akanji</strong> and <strong>Nathan Ake</strong> are options at £5.0m but both come with a greater risk of rotation. Akanji is potentially not first choice and was subbed on five times last season, while Ake will face competition from the incoming <strong>Josko Gvardiol</strong>.</span></p>
<p>Both could be good picks but neither are likely to live up to what Stones offers.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Stones is clearly first choice, is one of City’s top two defenders and the team’s defensive structure relies on his presence.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Especially early in the season, before Guardiola is forced into heavy rotation, Stones should be starting the vast majority of games.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In his right-sided inverted role at City, he often gets into great goalscoring areas near the edge of the box. Plus, he has very solid aerial threat from set-pieces.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If Stones does get benched by Guardiola, he should usually stay on the bench. He was only subbed on twice last season, with one of those being eased back in from injury.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cover your FPL bench with a solid option, take a limited number of minutes risks elsewhere and Stones will be an incredible pick.</span></p>
